An indication that X (whatever X may be) is a particular forte or interest of the person speaking.


First appeared in print as far back as 1902, when the general manager of the Northern Commerical company declared that "fight is my middle name" in response to an upcoming trade war. Used throughout TV and movie history, notably by Mike Myers in Austin Powers.
